Nancy Baker, Classicist by training and educator of classical languages, philosophy, and the history of ideas, returns to ElderStudy to explore the effect color has on art.
The language of art began to change dramatically when color stopped being subtle or natural in the 1880s. Color expressed emotion and revealed the vibrations of the world as music does. See the Breton landscape through the eyes of Gauguin, Bertrand, Serusier, Bonnard and others who painted both the land and the Celtic culture there since Gallic times. Art history doubles as a travelogue!
